NotchFirst has no account and no analytics. Your tasks, notes, and focus history are saved on your Mac, and we never receive them.
What the app stores
Tasks, notes, focus sessions, and settings are saved in a file in your Mac’s Application Support folder. You can export them from Settings at any time. Deleting the app and that folder removes them.
Permissions you can turn on
- Calendar: NotchFirst reads today’s events to show them in the panel. It doesn’t change your calendar.
- Clips: the app looks in your screenshot folders on this Mac to show recent captures. Those files stay where they are.
- Copied items (Pro): if you turn this on, copied items stay in memory and clear when you quit. Items that password managers mark as private are skipped.
- Apple Reminders (Pro): if you turn this on, tasks sync with a NotchFirst list in Reminders. iCloud may carry that list to your other devices, under Apple’s terms.
- Voice (Pro): speech is recognized on your Mac and isn’t sent to a server.
- AI agents (Pro): agents are off until you turn them on. NotchFirst sends nothing itself, but what a connected agent reads goes to that agent’s AI provider.
When the app uses the internet
- Updates: the app checks for new versions and downloads them from GitHub, which can see your IP address as with any web request.
- Pro licenses: activating sends your key and your Mac’s name to Dodo Payments, who issue licenses. The app then checks the key about once a day. Nothing about your tasks or notes is sent.
Buying Pro
Dodo Payments handles checkout on its own pages. We receive what we need to deliver your license and support you, such as your name, email address, and order details. We never see your full card details.
